Who are Guthrie House? Read on …

Guthrie House…a beautiful old building in Elgin, Ontario. A welcoming community space where four friends and seasoned musicians would meet regularly to create music, share stories and ‘jam’ for hours. When asked to perform live the obvious choice for a name for the quartet and in homage to the building…Guthrie House.

For the past 7 years Stu Pike (percussion/accordian) Marty Crapper (upright and electric bass) Dave Balfour (guitar/vocals) and Steve Hanna (guitar/vocals) have been writing music filled with interesting stories, hook laden melodies, and serious musicianship. Guthrie House is a professional original folk-rock band to the ear and to the eye. Together and separately, they have played in over 20 bands and draw on their jazz, rock, pop, folk and blues backgrounds. With special guest, Melanie Morris on vocals the band added another characteristic to their sound.

Guthrie House can put a smile on your face, get your toes tapping and keep you humming long after a show. Whether playing their own material or tearing through their spin on others’ compositions don’t miss catching Guthrie House live!
